Just Be You, Boo Boo.
I understand that calling you Boo Boo was a tad awkward, but that's just me, I promise I'm not creepy.
Did you notice? I don't know how you couldn't by now... I changed up my look.
It was definitely a bit risk-ay, and honestly I was slightly terrified while I was doing it, but it turns out I love my new hair, even if it is weird. I've been wanting to do this for quite a while now, but my brain kept going to that place where everyone around me hated it. BIG SURPRISE, that place is a huge damn lie. Just goes to show you, you can do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't physically harm anyone), and you shouldn't be worried about what anyone thinks of it, because A) no one has to live your life but you, and B) most likely no one will care, and the majority of your comments will be positive.
For those of you who don't know, I do my own hair. At home. All by my self. I seriously haven't been to a salon in at least 10 years. I dye. I cut. I style. And my favorite, I save lots of money. Someone asked me today, how I did my hair this way, and it's literally so simple that I couldn't help but laugh. So here's a quick step by step on how to dye your hair half and half.
Half And Half Hairstyle.
- In front of your mirror, lay out your crappiest looking towel, dedicated to your many years of dying your hair. (Any regular old towel will do.)
- Lay out your ingredients within reach: Two colors of hair dye, developer, mixing bowels, brushes, gloves, two hair clips, and a playlist that you won't have the urge to press skip on.
- Take the pointy end of a comb, and use it to part your hair down the middle in a straight line, then clip one side up, and take a moment to laugh at yourself because you look ridiculous.
- Mix your dye and developer, and prepare your brushes and gloves.
- Apply one color to the side you left down. Make sure it's completely saturated and goopy, then clip it up.
- Un-clip the side that is not dyed, and repeat step 5 with the other color of dye.
- Wander around your house aimlessly, reconsidering your choices, and eating junk food for about 30 minutes. Then once you're feeling good, and lazy, prepare your towel, and set out new clothes.
- Take a shower.
And That's About It.
Pretty simple stuff here, but of course, if yo do not feel confident in you hair skills, don't hesitate to go to a professional. That's what they have their job for anyways.
Also, although I stand by the whole "not caring what others think of you" thing; before you get yourself into a mess, just remember that you are the one who has to walk around looking like whatever becomes of your experiment. If you're unsure, and can't mask your mistakes, put the dye down, man!
Best wishes,
