I am not cool, collected, or calm. I am weird, terrified, and unsure. But, if there's one thing I know, it's this: The world is CRAZY, life is incredibly SILLY, and I'M STUCK ON THIS ROLLER-COASTER AND I CAN’T GET OFF! (but I'm okay with it.)
Danielle (affectionately known as Danni) began snapping photos at a very young age in Rapid City, SD. She swiftly transitioned as the awkward, shy girl in the corner to an avid creator in the arts, excelling in both painting, and photography, and receiving recommendations to show her pieces in the Dahl Fine Arts Center of Rapid City. (But who are we kidding, she’s still a bit awkward.)
Danni's artistic debuts took place in both her mother, and grandmother's living rooms. She frequented these venues with dance, art shows, storytelling, and some slightly out-of-tune singing. The internet wasn't a big thing yet, so unfortunately there are no raving reviews, but according to her family members she was quite talented. Danni also brought her artistic skills to many lemonade stands, parades, and with the help of her step-sister Sammy, she gave a few dance lessons to fellow 8 year olds during recess.
Acknowledging her love of sharing her creativity, Danni's mother signed her, and Sammy up for many dance classes, and one cheer-leading class taught by cheerleaders from the local high school. She was also put on a soccer team, but only cared to focus on the details of the field rather then the actual game. (She was clearly not meant to be an athlete.) Once in middle school, Danni narrowed her focus for extracurriculars to orchestra where she played the Viola.
In addition to her love for the arts, Danni loves to travel. Part of this is likely due to spending her summers in Washington state with her father, and the traveling between the two homes. She always enjoyed the summers with her father, where he took her to concerts, car shows, and on many mini-road trips on the motorcycle. She is always ready for an adventure!
Insert a good amount of years as an aspiring tattoo artist, she was gifted at the young age of 17, her very first tattoo machine. Danni practiced for quite a while with practice skins before giving almost perfect tattoos to friends and family that were willing to be guinea pigs. She gave 20 tattoos to 18 different people, and was offered an apprenticeship from a tattoo artist in Burlington, WA. Toward the end of her senior year of high school her ambition for tattooing died off as she prepared for graduation. Danni later switched her focus to a career in medicine.
After high school, Danni headed into the work field. During her free time she enjoyed hiking, snapping photos of the landscape, and as much travel as she could get. She traveled to 11 of the United States in the span of 9 months, and even jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
Recognized for her compassion, positivity, and hard work ethics, Danni was offered a job at a new Home Health Care company in Rapid. Although she enjoyed the work she was doing, the physical strain on her body proved to be too much. She became close with her clients, and learned a lot from the job, but also learned a lot about herself and decided it was time for a change. (Let’s be honest, the girl just can’t decide what she wants to do in her life.) She began to save money, reaching her goal of over 4K in only a few months, then moved to Washington.
Now based in Bellingham, WA, Danni continues to flourish in her creativity, happily snapping away with her phone and/or camera, editing photos and videos, experimenting with hair color (AKA: making a mess in her bathroom), and throwing herself into a love that was overlooked but always there, writing.
She has also been recruited as an Ambassador Mentor (manager) for BANGSshoes, and a contributing writer for the former Nomadic Hearts Zine. Her credits include for Writing: The LYP Project, Nomadic Hearts Zine, and LookVine. Photograghy: The LYP Project, Wish You Were Northwest, BANGSshoes, Skyline Fever, Boomf, and a few family weddings. YouTube: GQazndood.
Amidst attempting to live as creatively as possible, and preparing to start a degree in Accounting (because numbers are the absolute shit… *cough, cough* -as she would say..), Danni still finds time for living room performances, and out of tune singing.. just when no one else is around.
