Day 50 Quarantine 2020
Hey! Welcome back, me, to my own blog! Where have I been? Just dealing with a whole lot of stuff, but you know, at this point, who hasn’t been. I found this list of questions, and I figured it’d be an easy way to jump back into writing. So here I am, and although I know our current situation is nothing to joke about, I just want to remind you that I try not to take life too seriously.. so, I’m gonna crack some jokes, and that’s okay, because this space is for me first. Love you though!
How are you attempting to maintain sanity? By treating TikTok like my job, because I don’t have one! *insert me crying alone* Also, by continuing to make my bed every morning, like the psycho that I am, getting ready (to go absolutely nowhere), and finishing at least one to two tasks each day.
Are you quarantined with anyone? My three roommates: Alana (Excessively reorganizing everything), Andrew (addicted to Animal Crossing), Trung (still working, and hating it), Me (can’t stop making TikToks), Cat: Leo (terrified of everything), Cat: Orion (trouble maker).
What have you made/accomplished during your time in quarantine? Puzzles, Spring cleaning, started a workout routine, changed my hair color for April, redecorated my room, created a “jungle” in my bathroom, customized some clothes and shoes, figured out how the heck this Unemployment crap works for the first time ever, ugh!
What was the last thing you purchased? Groceries, during one of my slightly terrifying trips into the outside world. Thanks, Fred Meyer. OH, and new sheets, which I’m pretty excited about.. hi, am I 30?
Favorite quarantine meme? I like the ones that say “Me coming out of quarantine like..”, and it’s just a bunch of grown out nails, and roots, and half fallen out eyelashes. You know, lookin’ like trash. Those are pretty funny.— Actually, my favorite memes are any of them that don’t have to do with being essential. Seriously, we get it.
Who is the last person you texted? My best friend Kylie. It was just a quick reply, so that she knew I was awake, and ready to receive a phone call. She lives back home in South Dakota, we’ve been social distancing for a while.
Who is the last person to text you? Ms. Hannah Davis, the founder of BANGS shoes, just keeping us (ambassadors) all informed, and together.
What are you most excited for when this is over? Oh man, what am I not excited for? I can’t wait for parks to be open. To be able to go to any store for non-essential things. To hang out with friends, and go to our favorite food places. To complain about traffic. To tip my waiter/waitress. To be tired from work. To not fear for my heath at the grocery store…
Do you have any quarantine goals? Yes. To not come out of this as a contender for the world’s most florescent light bulb… and to not forget how to do my job.
Most consumed snack or food? Poptarts. I’ve been eating a lot of Poptarts. I don’t know why..
What substances are you using and/or abusing? I can count how many alcoholic drinks I’ve had on one hand. Which is pretty crazy for me, because usually it would take no hands. Like, I made one little margarita one night, and that did me in. I’m not really into “substances”.
What is your daily average screen time on your phone? 4 hours and 3 minutes. Yikes.
Your most used app(s)? Wow, TikTok wins by a long shot. Followed by Facebook Messenger (probably because Kylie and I video chat, and send each other TikToks though there, haha.), and Instagram. But mostly TikTok, because that app is terrifyingly addicting!
The last song you listened to? Guilty Pleasure by Bryce Vine, according to Spotify.
Last smooch? Trung of course.
What has been the worst part about quarantine? The unknown. That is by far the worst. I wanted to say being kicked out of my store immediately after a promotion, but honestly that’s just my luck. Not having a for sure answer on when I can go back is definitely worse. But, not having a definitive answer for literally anything that’s going on in the world right now, THAT is the worst.
What has been the best part about quarantine? Besides the fact that I am getting a copious amount of time by myself, which is my personal favorite kind of time, I would say that creativity is killing it. (not sure if that’s the best choice of words…) Not just me, but EVERYONE. Holy moley, people are creative, and man, it’s been entertaining, heart wrenching, and magical.
Best movie or TV show you’ve watched during quarantine? Sure as heck isn’t Tiger King! I mean it wasn’t horrible, but not really my thing. Speaking of my thing, I apparently like re-watching things a lot, because I think my favorite thing that I’ve been watching is all the episodes of The Proud Family, on Disney+. Because nostalgia.
Last game you played? My roommates and I have been having a sort of “family game night” on Saturdays. We don’t plan it that way, but it tends to happen. The last game we played was “The Game of Real Life”, which is a board game that is a lot like “Life”, but WAY more real… I mean, if you roll a 1 on your first roll, your character is aborted, and you have to start over with a whole knew one. It’s a little messed up, but so is life.
What is the meaning of life? I don’t even know anymore!! To stay alive, an healthy, I guess?
If you could go anywhere right now, where? I want to say something cool, but honestly, I just want to go home to South Dakota. I miss my family there, and my best friend. Plus, I haven’t seen those beautiful Black Hills in two years! I was supposed to go in June, but I don’t know if that will be happening..
Last google search? “Copious”. What? I wanted to make sure I spelled that right. Always spell check, kids!
Last event you attended? Depends on how you would define “event”, because when you work in retail, any day could be an event. Family wise, probably Christmas. Volunteer wise, it would be the “Light The Night” walk in Seattle, for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which was amazing. But if you’re talking about an event that I paid for, that would be back in June, when the friends and I went to a Game Grumps show. Ah, good times.
What do you miss the most about before the pandemic? People. All of them. Even the ones I complained about. The ignorant bliss of not realizing what I was taking for granted. Also, me thinking I was ACTUALLY going to travel to all these fun places, and that 2020 was going to be “awesome”….
What’s something new you’ve tried or done during quarantine? I gave Trung a hair cut, which is something I’ve always refused to do, because I’ve never cut anyone else’s hair but my own. I also curled his hair; that was funny. Gave myself an eyebrow slit, cause why the hell not? We’re all going through some ish. I tried to figure out this whole gluing fake eyelashes to your eyes thing.. still don’t get that one though. I doodled on some shoes. I don’t know, I’m bored.
Are you reading anything good? Right now I am re-reading one of my favorite books. It’s called “Driftwood”, by Elizabeth Dutton. I just love the story for some reason.
What are you grateful for? Wow. My health. My life. My people. Putting myself in a situation to be SO proud of myself for being financially stable. My people & health..
Where’s the last place you went outside? The Lynden KOA campground. Not very quarantine-y, but I’m just gonna call that quick visit- me treating myself, for staying home a full month and a half without loosing it.
Something new you’ve learned during quarantine. I’m drawing a blank… it’s been too long…. Colorize your books! It looks fantastic! Cinnamon is a terrible choice for a candle, and your room will smell like 200 people were in there chewing Big Red gum. Also, my upstairs neighbors are probably the most clumzy people in the world.
Most absurd/ridiculous thing you’ve done in quarantine? Probably covering my entire bathroom in fake vines, or dressing in Trung’s Totoro onesie, and annoying him while he was streaming. No, definitely it was thinking that I was going to drink even half a case of White Claw… they are still in the kitchen.
Last thing in your phone notes? A grocery list.
A fear you have? This will never fully be over; but i’l still cross my fingers for 2021.
A wish you have? We’ll come out of this stronger, more caring, and less greedy.
Have you or do you know anyone that has been sick? No. No one that I know personally, thankfully.
Have you had to cancel any trips? There is a very good possibility that I will be cancelling my trip home next month. I haven’t done it yet, but I think I’m just holding on to it, because I don’t want to let it go.
Last picture in your camera roll?
Stay Safe Out There!
